FDA warning: new wine may cause homelessness
Washington, D.C.
--
The Food and Drug Administration has ordered U.S. winemaker Julio Badbaraz to add warning labels to his company's "Wild Dingo" wine bottles, contending that consumption of the reasonably priced grape product is a direct cause of homelessness. "Our studies indicate that more than 70 percent of Wild Dingo drinkers are homeless people," said FDA official Marvin Bates. "Statistically, we feel this indicates more than a coincidence." The warning, which will be printed nearly illegibly near the bottom of the back of the bottle, will state: "Warning: Consumption of contents may increase tendency to quit job, leave spouse, sell possessions, develop addictions, refuse psychiatric treatment, and sit around and get drunk all day on $3."
