VLATKO STEFANOVSKI & MIROSLAV TADIC
KRUSHEVO
M.A. RECORDS
The biography says "if you're impressed by the John McLaughlin/Paco De Lucia projects, then feast the ears on something a little less conventional, more exotic." Hmmm, that's true, as this dueling nylon-guitar, instrumentally vast album is more traditionally based in Eastern European/Gypsy composition than the aforementioned note-mongers. M.A. Record's Stefanovski and Tadic play incredibly fast at times, but retain a sensitivity seldom seen in a prog-folk guitar wank-fest. Krushevo is downright weepy at times. Recommended? Yes, if you like guitar. No, if you don't.-BO
