MOTO
MOTO
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.
Moto somehow makes simple grooves like the intro of "It Works Every Time" just as powerful and appealing as the masterfully fucked-with 7/8 outro of "Mystery Girl," although the band's most complex instrumental sections consistently offer their most definitive work. This seven-song release showcases the (now) three-piece's swift songwriting chops as well as their studio craftiness, and confirms Chris Cooney as one of the most stylistically unique guitarists in the area. Locally admired for their understandably unruly professional behavior, and just self-indulgent enough musically to remain exempt from radio play lists, Moto represents defiance in its purest form. God bless them.
